Ciudad de México (27 junio 2007).- A pesar de que se presumen como 100 por ciento nacionales, empresas de calzado que distribuyen sus productos por medio de catálogos se dedican a engrosar las estadísticas de los artículos procedentes de China, Estados Unidos y Brasil, entre otros competidores mexicanos.
De acuerdo con la iniciativa Visión 20/20 de la Cámara de la Industria del Calzado del Estado de Guanajuato (CICEG), a nivel nacional las zapaterías siguen siendo el principal punto de venta de calzado.
Aunque destaca que las ventas por catálogo le siguen de cerca, representando el 17.8 de participación en la comercialización de zapatos en México.
A pesar del aumento en las importaciones de calzado, que subió 34 por ciento de 2006 a 2007, y su afectación al sector, empresas como Andrea, Price Shoes y otras comercializan productos de los principales competidores del país en el sector, como lo son naciones asiáticas y Brasil.De acuerdo con la iniciativa Visión 20/20 de la Cámara de la Industria del Calzado del Estado de Guanajuato (CICEG), a nivel nacional las zapaterías siguen siendo el principal punto de venta de calzado.
Aunque destaca que las ventas por catálogo le siguen de cerca, representando el 17.8 de participación en la comercialización de zapatos en México.
De acuerdo con Guillermo Márquez, presidente de la Cámara Nacional de la Industria del Calzado (Canaical), aunque la mayoría de las importaciones son legales y no constituyen comercio desleal, sí desencadenan una competencia para el producto nacional.
"Andrea y otras empresas como Price Shoes también compran mucho zapato mexicano, pero efectivamente también venden zapato importado.
"El problema es que somos muy malinchistas los mexicanos, nos interesa traer zapatos de otros países aunque el zapato mexicano sea mejor que el brasileño", denunció.
El presidente de la Canaical agregó que aunque lo ideal sería que las empresas que venden por medio de catálogo apoyaran al 100 por ciento la venta de calzado mexicano, la importación de productos de manera legal se encuentra dentro de las reglas del libre comercio, por lo que es imposible prohibirlo.
También comentó que las ventas por catálogo, al igual que los demás canales de comercialización, no están exentas de la triangulación de producto procedente de china o de la subfacturación de calzado que llega de países con los que México no tiene tratado de libre comercio.
No obstante, reconoció que esta práctica es difícil de detectar, aunque ya se están tomando medidas para evitar el contrabando en la industria.
En materia de cuotas compensatorias, los empresarios ya comenzaron la lucha contra la eliminación de algunas para los productos hechos en China.
